Instead of giving us another experienced James Bond who already has everything figured out, they let us experience the mistakes, losses, and choices that shaped him into the agent we know.

This Bond is talented, but he is not perfect. He gets manipulated. He loses people. He makes mistakes. He survives.

And by the end, he earns the number 007 instead of simply being introduced with it.

That is what makes the story interesting.

The Roth twist also gives the ending a strong sequel hook. THEIA’s core is still out there, Roth is working for someone unknown, and Bond’s next mission already feels personal before it even begins.
